Excellent! I see WHY the author is the most-read French author. The story spanned decades, but the characters were slowly revealed until the last twist.Not my cup of tea with the language and morals I'm not faulting the writing talent. I have no complaints about the plot or characters or readability. But I avoid cussing and bed-hopping. Not enough customer reviews were in for me to know this book would be icky with those.Very discouraging The only kindle first book that seemed even remotely acceptable to my reading preferences in many months, and I had to stop reading it before I was even 25% through. It only took a few chapters for the author to degenerate into sexual scenarios. Not explicit or extended, but each time there was a little more detail included. I had to make a decision - keep reading, in hopes that it never got any worse, or keep reading, get really hooked on the story (which seemed interesting enough), and find that the author was so enthralled with including his sexual fantasies that it just became unreadable. Since I have never known an author to stop building on sexual scenarios once he got started, I chose to remove the book from my device. I am writing this review to warn others who might not appreciate lewdness in their reading material.
